When purchasing a home, applying for the mortgage loan is very demanding for many people, but it doesn't have to be. I have close business relationships with a lot of lending companies in the Brentwood area, and they've helped me realize a few things that make the loan application process pretty simple.

1 – Make a list of questions about your loan program

Make sure you have a list of questions with you if you find that you don't entirely comprehend the ins and outs of the various programs. It's hard to know the distinctions between both fixed and adjustable rate mortgages. 2 – Determine when you want to lock

By locking in an interest rate, the mortgage lender is committing to the mortgage interest rates for the loan – normally at the time the loan application is sent in. 3 – Decide if you want to pay additional points to reduce your rate

4 – Compile your paperwork
